Hamilton Bch 6-Cup Food Processor - 70450 (2010-05-13)
This was a gift bought for another who reports she likes the unit very much. It arrived within the time promised and in good condition.
good buy (2010-03-20)
I've never had a food processor, but friends kept saying how handy they were. I looked at everything Amazon had to offer and read the reviews. In the end I'm delighted. I didn't spend a lot of money. It does everything I'd like it to do. I'm in weight Watchers and making their muffins is a breeze with this little machine. It chops the cereal, blends the dry ingredients and mixes the wet into it easily. One bowl for everything. Wonderful. It has a lot of power. The blade is a little high to entirely chop all the cereal instantly, but a few extra pulses has it to a farily fine powder. The one complaint is the on/off dial only has little nubs for gripping to turn off & on. If you have wet or arthritic hands it might be a little difficult. This is definitely worth the money though.
Great value and the right size (2010-03-14)
I've been using this product for a year and a half. I've made pie crust, hummus, thick cookie dough, biscuit dough, pesto, and have been pleased with all of those. Motor is strong and the capacity is enough for the typical cookie recipe, etc. Easy to use; easy to clean. The product is also small enough that it should fit in a cabinet somewhere--although the shape is weird so maybe not. I haven't tried dicing vegetables or whatever, so can't comment on that use. I'd buy this again.
- I agree with the reviewer who noted that the blade sits high so if you have less than a cup of whatever it won't get mixed.
-And food sometimes gets spun out to the sides so for something thick like hummus, you end up taking the lid off and stirring the sides into the middle a couple times.
-The chute is narrow (but not really that much smaller than competing models) so if you are shredding potatoes, the potato has to be cut down...
-If your hands are slippery, it can be hard to operate the on-off switch.
Some criticisms, but I'd still buy this over a full-sized Cuisinart, and I really like that it is easy to clean, so I'm still going five stars.
food processor (2010-03-13)
Great product. Light-weight but sturdy. Does everything I had hoped it would do.
Great little food processor! (2010-03-11)
I've only been using this food processor for about a week, but it seems to be very sturdy and well constructed. The blades are very sharp, the container and lid are easy to clean and the motor is powerful.
The bowl locks and unlocks easily, and operation is a snap. If it had a retractable cord or cord storage, it would be darn near perfect. (And I didn't ding them for that because it's clearly stated in the product description.)
I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a tough little food processor that doesn't take up a ton of space, but needs to be able to handle 6 cups of material.
